Thankfully nearly everyone around me left before Desenchantee

This is another thing I found very strange - there must have been upwards of 10,000 people who left before the encore and I must admit that I've never experienced anything like that before - ever.
Why did they leave - did they think that the concert had ended, did they just want to beat the rush for the exits or were they worried that they might miss the last train home. Quite honestly, it beggars belief. Confused Confused Confused

Indeed you could tell it wasn't over but there was a longish gap and it was running a tad late maybe but I actually piped up and tried to say to people next to me that there was another song. I was just saying 'Desenchantee next' hoping they would get the jist. They still left.

The Metro back to city center was empty when I got it straight after but streams of people where going some other way in a mighty hurry.

When I see all those comments I'm really ashamed of the people living in my country Razz I've also noticed them leaving before Désenchantée and I thought: WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU GUYS DOING?!
But maybe it's typical Belgians... I've noticed that when going to other concerts too. I guess those are people that don't want to queue up before going homing with their car... IDIOTS!!! I queued for about half an hour, 45 minutes, before I got on the highway, but hell it was more than worth it! For Mylène I'd stand in a queue for ten hours Very Happy

@ almdudler: I guess those people where running to the parking spots to get at their car as fast as possible so they wouldn't have to queue up too long Smile

While it is annoying waiting for ages in a carpark trying to get out I would never leave a Mylene gig early. NEVER. EVER.

I'd hate to be surrounded by robots that just sit there motionless in the face of the best concert of their poor sad lives!!! Must be too much for their miserable souls to handle... excuse the sarcasm, but I just can't fathom the idea of being all up-tight in a Mylène Farmer concert, for life's sake... it's Mylène friggin' Farmer!!!! If that doesn't move you... lose hope, nothing will!!!

What a waste!!! Especially cuz from what I've heard/seen, it was one of Mylène's best performances... at least the people in the lower tiers and standing did appreciate that fact and had the time of their lives (as I could see in youtube vids). I wish I cld've been there... I wld've stood up and sang along (in horrible broken French and not always knwing what in the world I was singing, and in an even worse voice)... I wldn't have minded the evil stares and the feeling of being crazy... who knws, it's been said we mexicans have a knack for spicing things up... if anything, the people right behind me might get annoyed cuz I'm obstructing their view, to which my response wld be... "well, *annoyed stare* get up if u wanna see!!" and then the person behind them wld have to stand up, etc etc etc heheheheee

That's the spirit, Isis! Heehee!

And this...

Me neither... They're just stupid Laughing

@ Isis & Trinity: I did so too... I do live in Belgium, but normally speak Flemish, so not French... I do understand a lot, but still it's hard for me to sing the correct lyrics and understand everything... But nevertheless... IT WAS SPLENDID, UNFORGETTABLE!!!

For me Brussels was a wholly unexpected gem. Whilst I'd taken Mrs lancssaint to Paris and Rouen this was the first time that I'd persuaded her to stand up and enter into my Mylene world so to speak even more deeply. I think she had decided that if this was the price to pay for a long weekend in Brussels then so be it!There was no way that I could persuade her to queue up so we got there fairly late and were 2/3rds of the way back in the front standing area.

Whilst this would have given anything but a bad view, I was a touch disappointed bearing in mind how amazingly close I had got to the stage at Geneva even arriving after the gates had opened. However, when we arrived most people other than those right at the front were sitting on the floor. When the surge began I was able to get my wife to her feet quickly and litterally dragged her running much closer to the front and near the catwalk.

I dont think that anything will beat the atmosphere of SdeF of 12/09 as this was the one that everyone wanted tickets for. However the crowd around us were really up for it unlike those around me in Geneva. More importantly this was Mylene at her most relaxed and in my opinion by some way more emotional. Although not a lot has been posted about it, if people are honest she did have something of a problem with her voice in Paris particularly on the ballads. This is not a criticism - anyone can get a cold or the like. Her voice was back to normal in Brussels.

More importantly, whilst she was clearly moved by the atmosphere in Paris (happy birthday etc) she was clearly even more moved in Brussels by the realisation that this was the last concert (hopefully merely of this tour). She spoke at considerable length (by her standards) although I confess Im not too sure what she was saying other than thanking the musicians dancers and technicians. As has been posted already she touched on this in Nice on the opening night but this went someway beyond that.

She clearly did not want the night to end and the clip posted shows just how long the refrains to Desenchantee went on for ignoring the actual song itself. I personally thought the sound was good although this was through the front speakers for us.

As we left I said to my wife that it was impossible to decide which was the better concert between Paris and Brussels. Had they not been from such respected posters I would have taken the comments of Dicey and Almdudler with a pinch of salt. As it is the wholly different experiences of different members is clear evidence of the problems of Stadia concerts generally.

I actually feel quite strongly that people who have spent an awful lot of money are let down by issues such as lines of vision and sound; obviously there is not much that can be done about being surrounded by boring people!! A lot has been posted about the many positives of this brilliant series of gigs; however there were negatives and not much has been posted about these. When I have time I will try and address these.

And I have to tell you, the sound up there was absolute shite - all bass & bugger all else. It was awful - just boom, boom, boom all night long.

I can only advise you: Loose some weight and try a place on the field (pelouse) next time dicey Laughing
I've seen Rouen, Paris and Brussels from pelouse, same as AQL in 2006.....
It really makes a difference... Exclamation
Ive seen some concerts from the tribunes...and mostly the sound is worse, which I can't say of my MF concerts till now.

I'd say you're wrong on this. I was on the 11th in the Golden pitch (Pelouse OR) and the 12th - G8, 4th row. The 2nd night the sound was considerably better, though strange (maybe too... loud) at moments. I regret nothing. Both days, both views were really good. They both had their advantages and disadvantages... I don't know, maybe I got luck.

[heart] Mylèeene...

I can only assume Roberto that you have the impression that I'm fat. Slightly overweight I might be but fat I most definitely ain't (see below)
I did have a standing ticket for Douai but I had to duck out of that concert as I had a more important engagement - the birth of my first granddaughter.
However, I've probably stood at more concerts than you've had hot dinners but the reasons why I try & avoid doing that now are -
1. I'm 60 years old & in all honesty the old legs won't tolerate standing for 3 or 4 hours in the same place anymore. I'm fine running a 4 minute mile but standing still is another story. Wink
2. I like to have the odd drink when I attend a concert (purely for medicinal reasons Wink ) & as the old bladder can't hold it for so long anymore, it's a pain in the ass having to push your way past thousands of people to get to the loo only to find that the buggers won't let you get back to to the spot you previously occupied.
3. You normally meet a much more refined type of person in the seating area - much better than standing next to some hairy arsed bastard who thinks extreme body oder is cool and a serious attack of flatulence is something to be proud of. Wink Wink

Dicey: LOL.

I must say standing in the field is the best but I must admit (even I am not your age yet) that standing on 1 place is not great fun.

btw , who are the other people ? I bet that they are the other forum members joining the Louvre mfi-forum event ?
edit: I already found out in another thread...

At outdoor stadium shows especially, it's pot luck as to whether or not you are in a section where the sound is good....I've also been to outdoor shows where the sound is less than great, and the video screen seems to be out of synch....
It's clear that for some people in Brussels, they were unluckily in the wrong part of the stadium, sound-wise......

I arrived by metro to the stadium 17:00
Began the search for a ticket, bought a Pelouse OR Ouest for 60€ from a young couple that I found confidence in (that they sell genuine ticket) searched me then to the long queue.
At 18:00, I was inside the arena.
I chose a spot far out on the left, the left big screen was directly above me. There I came in front...(hope you understand what I mean) and could sit leaning against the fence until the concert began (Also I am too old to stand for 5 hours)

I felt the same as Dicey that the audience was not as enthusiastic as in Paris during the concert, but that the Mexican wave they do better in Brussel. Bwah

But because Mylene was so good, is my impression that the concert was better than the concerts in Paris.

And she is so funny when she makes mistakes [heart]
as in Sans contrefaçon
in this at 0:25
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X9BcTaoz5U8&NR=1

Then she joking about it with Cris
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5jGS4xxPQ6I

here at 1:19, she discovers the mistake
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vA7xjKWZlzc

Another funny thing. In c'est dans l'air she made several funny faces, she rolled her eyes and showed a funny facial expressions.
I assumed it was because she thought that "this is where I made those choreography mistakes in Paris." Razz
Unfortunately I have not found a good video showing this

laughing I love her reaction when she starts at the right place.

I'm surprised the misucians didn't adjust the music to her singing. Yvan would have done it. I mean, that moment in Ainsi soit-je where she starts singing in a strange/diff tonality and Yvan starts playing in it. Well, he's alone and the musicians are many more, but still...

I think those 'funny eyes' (Mylene has such beautiful large dark eyes) were present during C'est dans l'air on the 12th, I saw briefly on the big screen, but looks like we'll have to wait for the dvd to see properly...

Dark eyes? Confused That's interesting, I've always described them as light in color. Light brown, hazel. But (probably) we all agree on beautiful. Mr. Green
