A brilliant, rare Evanescence song, with piano:

Three suggestions from my collection which are a bit different and I've tried to avoid some of the more obvious ones. All 3 songs have a sort of common theme. Hope you like them.

Rose of Cimarron - Poco. Just a very nice sort of Country song (but don't let that put you off) from the 1976 album of the same name. I first heard this one night back in the 70's on a pirate Radio Station when it was requested by a prison inmate who was pleading his innocence. It was a very sad moment.
http://rapidshare.com/files/32086441/01_Rose_of_Cimarron.mp3

Dumb All Over - Zappa. Great lyrics that are guaranteed to make you smile. Live version from MTV concert special in 1981 off an album called "You Can't Do That On Stage Anymore, Volume 1." It's about the reasons for going, or not going, to war and it's still very relevant (Mr Blair & Mr Bush)
http://rapidshare.com/files/32087215/10_Dumb_All_Over.mp3

Too Long a Soldier - Pat Benetar. Another song about war with a bit of a message. From the 1988 album called "Wide Awake in Dreamland"

Listen to this voice..................... You have to.
Amazing song. One of the platinum artists in Greece, Mihalis (Michael) Hatzigiannis:

I'm taking a leaf from diceyuk's book - I'll just mention a few songs that aren't very obvious choices. Smile

Kate Bush - Get Out Of My House (The Dreaming) - Some people have said that this song scares them! It is such a... weird song, I have to admit. It really packs an emotional wallop and is a bit of a mental workout. I think the best songs are those that strike a chord and this one sure does make an impact!

Richard Ashcroft - Break The Night With Colour (Keys To The World) - The lovely harpsichord, the downtempo drumbeat, the great vocals from Ashcroft: this is a brilliant song. Smile

Queen - Seven Seas Of Rhye (Queen II) - One of the best Queen songs, in my opinion! It's theatrical, exuberant, and just too cool!

Marilyn Manson ~ Just A Car Crash Away

From his latest album, EAT ME, DRINK ME.

"Just A Car Crash Away"

Love is a fire.
Burns down all that it sees.
Burns down everything.
Everything you think
Burns down
Everything you say.

She blew me her death-kiss
And the mouth-marks
Bled down my eyes,
Like her dying
On my windshield.
I can already feel
Her worms
Eating my spine.
So how can it be this lonely?
That all we get
For our lives?
Is love only sweeter when
One of us dies?

Then I knew that our love was
Just a car crash away.
I knew that our love was
Just a car crash away.
I knew that our love was
Just a car crash away.
I knew that our love was
Just a car crash away.

Love is a fire.
Burns down all that it sees.
Burns down everything.
Everything you think
Burns down
Everything you say. [x3]

I knew that our love was
Just a car crash away.
I knew that our love was
Just a car crash away.
Just a car crash away.

Everything you think.
Everything you think.
Everything you think.
Burns down
Everything you say.

I don't feel like creating a new thread for posting this. Especially as I think these are songs everyone should .... know, at least know, it's obvious not everybody will like them as much as I do...

Underestimated in the past, forgotten by the media, not available on sale in any stores, they are doomed to oblivion.... It took me ages to find the two albums finally.

Hubert Kah
album "Hubert Kah" 1996
all files 320 kbps

Sailing (Away from Me)
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=QOKA7A0X
http://uploading.com/files/mm64d963/01.%2BSailing%2B%2528Away%2Bfrom%2BMe%2529.mp3/
I Came to You - Oriental Moon
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=CXO89Q87
http://uploading.com/files/4b99c65f/02.%2BI%2BCame%2Bto%2BYou%2B-%2BOriental%2BMoon.mp3/
Flower in the Snow
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=H7HKWT9P
http://uploading.com/files/bd993843/04.%2BFlower%2Bin%2Bthe%2BSnow.mp3/
(the track is not cut, this is the worst ending of a song I've ever heard..., it's painful because the song is beautiful)
C'est la vie
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=0BIUO8OF
http://uploading.com/files/d48878c8/06.%2BC%2527%2527est%2Bla%2Bvie.mp3/
Mountains and Sea
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=K1AT9AH6
http://uploading.com/files/1bb2m493/11.%2BMountains%2Band%2BSea.mp3/

- possibly my favourite male voice

I love some Hubert's songs from the 80s as well, like The voice of silence, The picture, Midnight sun, but I don't have yet any decent mp3 of those.

Annika
album "Me & Myself" 1997

The Reddest Rose - this one is among the songs of my life
320 http://www.megaupload.com/?d=A815TD1T
192 http://www.mediafire.com/?h30k9l3iyymozl4
I Wonder, I Wonder
320 http://www.megaupload.com/?d=SLH3RXEH
192 http://www.mediafire.com/?ie6t34ci7xezbfr
Thinkin' Of You
320 http://www.megaupload.com/?d=JEPFTRLH
192 http://uploading.com/files/3891mf67/A%2B-%2BMM%2BThinkin%2527%2Bof%2BYou.mp3/
Sun After Rain
320 http://www.megaupload.com/?d=FYA0N2CQ
192 http://www.filesonic.com/file/74881439/A_-_MM_Sun_After_Rain.mp

320 fizzes/rustles, or I cannot tune my player...., 192 sounds very nice (this is a kind of music where worse compression doesn't irritate so much)

"Motive" doesn't have such great songs like "The Circle & The Square" (including For America of course Smile which I tactfully omitted here - the lyrics are rather vague, I won't probe the intended meaning of the song by its authors) so I've chosen only one title from the second album - Train. But as the whole album I appraise Motive much higher than TCATS, it's a real pleasure to spend time with it.

By the way, Red Box released a new album in 2010 Shocked called Plenty but it's a complete failure according to me. Nothing entertaining like two albums from the past and what's worse I'm not able to recognize the voice of Simon Toulson-Clarke which I liked so much, he sounds so strange... I have an impression as if it were a different person singing.

A beautiful song and I love the gongs in the middle Happy
It was the first song in my life that I recorded on a cassette and I was 8 then Heehee!

See the fire in the sky
We feel the beating of our hearts together
This is our time to rise above
We know the chance is here to live forever
For all time

CHORUS:
Hand in Hand we stand
All across the land
We can make this world
A better place in which to live

Hand in Hand we can
Start to understand
Breaking down the walls
That come between us for all time
Arirang

Everytime we give it all
We feel the flame eternally inside us
Lift our hands up to the sky
The morning calm helps us to live in harmony
For all time

CHORUS:
Hand in hand we stand
All across the land
We can make this world
A better place in which to live

Hand in Hand we can
Start to understand
Breaking down the walls
That come between us for all time
Arirang

Hand in hand we stand
All across the land
We can make this world
A better place in which to live

Hand in Hand we can
Start to understand
Breaking down the walls
That come between us for all time

Hand in hand (Breaking down the walls between us)
Hand in Hand (Breaking down the walls)
