New poster here, hey everyone!
On to the topic:
A few weeks ago, I saw a clip on YouTube of Lady Gaga performing a new song called "You and I" (I think that was the correct title) with just her, a piano, and some guitar and drums. A lot less dancey and more stripped down than her recent stuff, even a little soulful and bluesy!

And the audience was getting into it too. I know I would have if I were there!
I don't know about most of the record-buying public, but I would love to see her go towards a rockier direction like in that clip! I don't know about you but I think underneath the crazy outfits and wild persona, she is incredibly talented. I think she's talented enough that she could do away with the dancey music she does now and become a more piano-based pop singer like I heard she started out becoming. If that clip was any evidence, she could do it and blow everyone away.
However, the way she got popular was by becoming a pop artist, with synthesizers and huge dance beats driving her music, rather than with basic drums, guitar, and piano. Though I'd be happy to see her do almost anything because she does have the talent, I think the public is too accustomed to her dance music and her wild, crazy outfits/public persona. I'm not sure how the rest of the world would accept her as anything but.
Anyway, those are my two cents!
