It's a waste of time considering the movie was originlly shot in english. If you havn't got an english version, perhaps you should download it. Or buy the DVD.

Yeah.. and it's so obvious you are both native English speakers. Laughing
The thing is.. Sometimes is rather hard to "catch up" with the characters in some movies. Let's say when you have a strong accent or loads of terms (medical, sci-fi, court & law, etc.) - it's really hard to get into EVERY word you hear (or actually you DON'T hear)... That's why most/some of us (the non-native speakers) often turn the subtitles on. Wink You hear what you hear and you read what you read - besides, we're used to subtitles anyway. Very Happy
PS True, Giorgino doesn't fit "the profile" of a hard-to-understand movie (in the meaning of listening/hearing the speech).. so call it a habit.

Back on topic: I suppose I can rip off some French and Russian subs.. Sorry, BB89.

Well... I'm not a native English speaker... and as a matter of fact, I still have the tendency of turning on English subtitles... but I can do w/out them as well... in Giorgino, I actually turn on French subtitles... just to see if I cld follow along (not really, Very Happy).

I'm English but I totally understand - sometimes subtitles are helpful even for me when the speech is fast and technical.
With Giorgino I always have the French subtitles on - helps with learning the language and if it had English subtitles I'd try to watch it the other way round - in French and just read the English.
So sorry BB89 I can't help! Sad

I find having French audio and subtitles on is confusing, because they'll be different things =/ it's not a transcript of what's being said, usually never is.

Plus.... to me, French is way too fast to follow :S
I catch one word by the time they're already on the third sentence, lol

Ohhh and no worries, Trinity!

It's true with many languages that the subtitles are different from the spoken script. Still I get some of it.
